What is Lift Club South Africa?

Lift Club SA is a website which helps commuters and individuals to find, offer or share a lift  to any destination. Lift Club SA uses its fast-growing database and route-matching technology to match your lift requirements.  This will save you time, effort and money.

The use of the website is FREE. However any payment arrangement between members of a Lift Club which you form or  which you are part of, is a private matter which is agreed directly between the parties concerned. Lift Club SA assumes no responsibility or liability for that.

How To...

Register on Lift Club South Africa

  • To your right you will see the log-in module with an option to register, please click on the "register " text link to proceed to the registration page.
  • Please fill in all registration information, fields marked with an “*” are required.
  • After entering all your info please read through the terms and conditions and accept them by ticking the box.
  • Click on the register button to send your registration info.

I have forgotten my PASSWORD

  • To your right in the log-in module, you will see a “Forgot password” link, please click on this.
  • After clicking on the “Forgot password” link you will be directed to a page requesting  your email address, please fill in your email address and click on the “submit” button.
  • You will receive an email containing a token and a link. Please copy the token and click on the link which will direct you to the password changing page.
  • Paste the token code into the required field, enter your username and click on submit.
  • You will be directed to a page requesting a new password, please enter your new password and click on submit.
  • You have now successfully changed your password.

How to find a Lift

  • Click on the “Find a lift” tab.
  • Select your destination suburb, town and city and click on the “search” button bottom right
  • If you are looking for a lift from one City (eg. Johannesburg) to City (eg. Cape Town), then only select City and click on the "search button"
  • You may also use the "Quick search Destination" button on the top tight corner of the Homepage. Type in first 3 letters of your destination and it will prompt you with a list of towns. select and click on "Go".

How to create/post a lift/add a lift

  • On the “My Liftclub” drop-down menu there are two options, the “add lifts” and “my lifts” tab.
  • click on these to find or post a lift.

PS. You need to be logged in before you will see the "My liftclub" menu item.

Change my personal information (profile)

  • On the “My lift Club” drop-down menu you will see a menu called “My profile”,
  • click on this button to view and change your profile information. click on "Save"

Change or view my Lift information

  • On the “My Lift Club” tab drop-down, click on the “My lifts” menu item to view your lifts.
  • Click on the edit button to edit your lift info. Click on "Save"

How to contact a lift that you find suitable

  • After you have found your lift to your right at the top there is a button “Request Lift”.
  • When clicking on the “Request Lift” a message box will pop up. Enter your message here to request your lift, be sure to enter all your "required" details.

Rate a lift

  • After you have found your lift to your right at the top there is a button “Rate Lift”.
  • When clicking on this button a rating window will pop up, please choose your rating option and click on the “Rate” button to submit.

To view all lifts

  • Click on the “Find a Lift” tab, you will be taken to the lift search page.
  • At the top of this page you will see the text “Not sure of the area? Click here for our directory. Click here to view ALL lifts.”
  • Click on each of the links to find the lift directory or to view all lifts, respectively.

To view all wanted lifts

  • Click on the “Find a Lift” tab
  • This will take you to the lift search page, under the “Lift Details”
  • Tick the option “wanted” , choose your city, suburb, town and click on the search button.

To view all offered lifts

  • Click on the “Find a Lift” tab
  • This will take you to the lift search page, under the “Lift Details”
  • Tick the option “offering” , choose your city, suburb, town and click on the search button.

What are Featured Lifts?

To create a lift is still FREE, but if your lift is urgent and you wish to advertise your lift on the homepage, please select "Featured Lifts"

  • Your Lift details will be prominently displayed as a small advert, at the top of the Home Page
  • You may include a photo image (twice as effective as ones without a photo)
  • It will remain valid for 30 days after which you may renew it
  • Free email alerts sent of Lift matches as soon as they are detected.
  • The Fee for Featured Lifts is R28.00

How to make payment for Featured Lifts

  • If you choose "Featured lifts" you need to do the following:
    • First write a short message for your Lift Ad on the page that will pop up
    • Upload photo image
    • Save and submit your Lift Ad - This will take you to a Payment Page.
    • Click on the “Pay via PayPal” button and complete your payment details via PayPal, ( R28 is automatically converted for you to a Dollar amount)
    • Alternatively, choose to pay through your own banking services and forward your proof of payment by email or fax.

How to get HELP

  • Under the “My lift Club” tab there is a "Feedback" tab, when clicking on this tab you can send feedback about your experience or post a question and we will answer you as soon as possible.
  • You may also click on "contact us" button at the bottom of the homepage.

How to check messages received

  • Under the “My lift Club” tab there is a "Messages" tab, when clicking on this there is an inbox button, click on this to view any Lift Requests, or messages received.

For those who are serious about saving money

We offer a savings calculator on the website to help you calculate how much you save when you use lift-sharing as an option.

For those who care about the Environment?

Use the Carbon Calculator to calculate the amount of harmful carbon emissions that you have reduced, through Lift-sharing and thereby contributing to saving our Earth. Talk about it onour blog and get people to start caring.
